Orbital
Tornel Station
The compromised catcher station / corridor-control outpost of the Rivas Corridor; a populated golden-age frontier outpost. "Tornel" = station control in corridor terminology (e.g. "Tornel, this is Lodestar"). The station's catcher is where the timing drift lives; its damaged catcher still performs the final large momentum exchange in the B1 climax.
Type
orbital
Nation
Sundgren Combine (Frontier bloc)
Founded
golden-age expansion era
Position
Canon has not established a position
Classification
Sundgren Combine corridor infrastructure; Strand's domain. Geneva/ISCA-FC oversight contested.
Population
Director Marius Strand — corridor director (file pending) Reuben Dewan — senior catcher-calibration engineer / shift supervisor (file pending) Telan — Nhál worker (file pending) 30 affected workers total; plus the catch-rider-captured and ballistic-arc groups
Wound state
The timing-drift Drag observable originates here ("within tolerance"); junction still drifts after all human faults fixed.
Canon has not fixed this place in space, so the archive does not invent a coordinate for it. It appears in the gazetteer as unplaced rather than on the star map as a guess.
On the record
- Catcher develops accumulating timing errors; Director Marius Strand keeps it operating because dependent settlements need throughput.
- Affected workers moved off personnel rolls into falsely-manifested transfer capsules (the cover-up).
- The Lodestar away team works the outpost; the director argues his case on-page; jurisdiction clash with the Combine.
- The damaged catcher performs the final momentum exchange in the distributed catch.
