Description
Mars has been "terraformed into the great spaceport." The Mercer Yards are the shipbuilding heart of it — where the Mercer-class survey ships (including the NV Dawnward) are built. Named, like the ship class, for Mercer — the captain who brought the lost Endurance home (an S10/S11 link; cf.
Classification
Sol-system industrial/shipbuilding site; part of the home-system "fortress of plenty" (orbital habitats, a system-wide defensive lattice).
Canon has not fixed this place in space, so the archive does not invent a coordinate for it. It appears in the gazetteer as unplaced rather than on the star map as a guess.
