One of the two Nhál (with Naral) who returned on the Endurance and bonded with its human crew over the five years in the far pocket. In S11B4 they re-enter the Reach as the alliance-Nhál who have actually been to spent space — the lived counterweight to Ralhun's containment certainty. Their load-bearing act: when Ralhun moves to sabotage the defence of the Doorstep, Saen and Naral (with Sevoth and the moderates) strip Ralhun of standing among the Nhál, stopping the sabotage without killing or redeeming him. They are the part of the Nhál fracture that proves the alliance can hold by individual choice.
