Rode Hale's instrument gear aboard the lander Petrel on the close-range Orun signal-capture (Spent Light) — riding it because Hale was not permitted to ride it herself. Badly hurt when the Petrel drifted onto the Orun's dead-drift and was struck: spinal injury, in Soto's sick bay with "a spine she will not promise on," a long count before anyone knows if Adler will walk.
