Second engineer aboard *Endurance* (came aboard at Houston off a fleet tender). Ferris's deputy and the one who manages him — keeps him fed, slept, alive; says *boss* so he'll let her. Welsh. Has the gift Ferris never learned: she can grieve a broken thing for exactly as long as it takes and then put the grief down and fix it.
