Description
Everything the prose fixes, and no more: It is in the coalition's own catalogue — "logged, and peopled" (,,,). Geneva's counsel calls it "the sky, unnamed and uncounted on any Earth chart" — it is on no Earth chart, and the coalition catalogued it themselves. It has a sun with time left in it. "An ordinary morning under a sun that still has a while left in it" (,,,,). It has people under that sun — "people under it who had never heard the name of the road that would put their sun out"; "people the Dawnward would never meet". No number, no species statement, no origin. Position: downstream and reach-side of the Weir. "On the far side of that curve"; "downstream, reach-side… where the new lane…
Classification
Catalogued by the reach coalition (Rade's fleet's own bookkeeping); the record Vale used was taken unsealed and off every sanctioned line. Not on any Earth chart, and outside every party's representation at the throat. Unrepresented at the drafting of the Cairn Compact, and carried into the record only as Vale's appended reservation.
Population
"People under it." No population figure, no settlement, no government, no representative — the absence is the point: Corran is the first unrepresented sky in the founding document of the age.

Canon has not fixed this place in space, so the archive does not invent a coordinate for it. It appears in the gazetteer as unplaced rather than on the star map as a guess.
