In Book 3 (2330) Sesk is the LOADMASTER of the trade-side post – Book 3's published prose calls him loadmaster throughout and never registrar. (An error in said otherwise; fixed at source.) By Book 4 (2334) he is SENIOR CIVIL REGISTRAR and therefore CIVIL STATUS OFFICER ex officio, having taken the counter off Kesh Anand. Established in passing in Who Holds the Standard, chapter 15 — the stool came up from the trade side the week he took the counter — with no ceremony and no reflection on the irony.
