Nhál Wound/topology specialist seconded to the ISV Palisade expedition — a truthful public assignment: instrumenting damaged topology without a practitioner who has lived inside it would be negligent. He is not in the human chain of command and is not Sarah Bishop's subordinate. He is one of the twelve Palisade survivors and is seriously injured — the injuries are not decorative. Early Book 2 gives him prolonged weakness, pain, intermittent fever, short wake windows, impaired fine work and exhaustion after minutes of concentration. Humans keep him alive before he becomes their route out, and he hates the dependence.
