Halberd and her crew then vanish. Leave it missing, presumed. No wink (master rulings section 8). If the spin-off is ever written, Halberd arrives at the drowning of Doggerland and becomes the origin of Spent Light's Drowned - forced by published Spent Light prose. None of that is visible in Closed Sky.
Family
Off-plot tell (The Defensible Route, chapter 26; Missing, Presumed, chapter 8): asks whether anybody has painted the new steel in Halberd's after third. She has asked twice; nobody has. She never explains why she wants it painted.
