The honest purchase — the household that bought its mark set properly and will not resile from the bargain. She is what makes Rahimi's want expensive without making anybody a villain: the gear he needs is somebody's living, paid for, entered, receipted.
How they speak
A bench voice. Terms first, figures out loud, no adjectives. Says a thing once and decides visibly whether to say it again. No pathos, no gratitude, no speech, and she never asks anybody for anything she cannot put in the book at the end of it — her own formulation, chapter 9.
