The 2047 instruments recorded the pulse as a tone with a wobble in it. The new Reykjavík timing chain can split what the wobble is. This note records what it is, what was done to try to make it go away, and what the authors are not claiming.

Sixty-one and thirteen are both prime. Their ratio, 61:13, is nothing an instrument produces by an accident of gearing, and nothing a person picks to be tidy — it is not three-to-one, not two-to-one, not anything round. The only tidy thing about the two numbers is that both are exact.
Attempts to kill it
Each array attempted to break the other’s result, by agreement, before either would sign this page.
- Detuned blind runs. Move the timing reference off the correct value and the structure goes away; return it and the structure comes back. Run to a schedule the analysing station did not control.
- Cross-derivation. Each station re-derived the counts from the other’s raw records, on its own clocks, with its own software. Same two integers.
- Archive check. The 2047 burst, re-processed with the new chain, carries the same structure end to end. It was always there. The instruments of 2047 could not split it.
What is not claimed
No identification of the source. No statement of purpose. The authors note one property of the finding and let it stand without conclusions: a ratio is the one kind of number that needs no agreement about units to be read. Seconds are ours. Sixty-one to thirteen belongs to no one’s clock.
Re-derivation is recommended annually, on both arrays, for as long as the pulse keeps arriving.
