The Orun do not exchange words. Contact with them is conducted in pressure — weight applied, held and set down — and the vocabulary that grew up around it is human vocabulary for a human side of the exchange. There is no Orun word-list in this archive because there is no Orun word-list anywhere: the humans who have talked with them longest still describe the conversation in terms of what was lifted and what was put down.

Structure
Not applicable, and the absence is the fact. Meaning is carried by magnitude, duration and release rather than by segmentable units, so there is nothing for a lexicon to list. The Nhál have a word for the silence the Orun keep — *threivesh*, the breach-silence, a quiet that is there and looking back and will not answer — and that is the nearest anyone has come to naming it.
Contact protocol
Pressure exchange at a rig built for the purpose. A human party gives weight and receives it; the record of a conversation is a record of loads and intervals. ⚠ Nothing here should be read as a cipher waiting to be broken — the books are careful that this is a way of talking, not a puzzle.
Why no vocabulary table
⚠ A zero-length lexicon is the NORMAL outcome of contact, not a failure of it. Most of the species in this archive have no word-list and never will.
