Takes half in front, states two conditions on the plate before Kade is aboard — he does not ask what the run is for, and the hull comes off a ground when he says it does — and holds both. Reads Kade's reconstruction and tells her flatly it is a ground with a range on it he could lose four hulls. Asks the one question that matters — what am I looking for — and is told, truthfully, that she does not know. Offered the chance to hand the half back on the apron; declines. He does not know Rell, was not on the station in 2322, and authenticates nothing. After Rell comes aboard he does not turn round again for the run home.
