How they speak
Blunt, dry, unsentimental about herself and impatient with fuss. Does the physical things that are still hers to do, deliberately: gets up off the stool in one go, gets off it again without putting a hand down, "because that was still hers to do." Tells people in a queue to shift and they shift.
