The March Burst — Sealed Capture Record

The sealed working copy of the file everything else grows from: six hundred and eight pulses out of the cold hydrogen band, spaced too evenly to wander, ending on their own count at 04:05:25 UTC. Pulled off console 3 and sealed by a postdoc who wanted the copy done properly. The record has no name for the thing it records.

ANOMALY-2047-03-14-031744-SVDFA · CONSOLE 3 SEALED COPY · FOR THE RECORD

Raw file re-pulled from console 3 and copied under seal, so that whatever is later said about this capture, the capture itself cannot be argued with. The original remains on the console stores. This copy is the reference.

The interval does not wander. Not by a part in a thousand, across everything captured. Nothing in the maintenance history of this array has ever failed to wander.

Ruled out (verification appendix, by hand)

  • Local hardware. Two independent receivers, independent clocks, same record. A fault does not agree with itself across separate electronics.
  • Aircraft, mainland ground stations, the big radars, the navy. Two days on the phone. Nothing was transmitting that could account for it — and none of it would track sidereal either. Everything human stays with the human ground.
  • Dispersion, known catalogue sources, maser lines. Run and re-run across three weeks. No match.

What remains is a source that is not local, not equipment, and not in the catalogue. The file is entered without a designation because no designation exists for it. The catalogue has no column.

Site note, appended at copy

Facilities: hairline fracture in the control-room slab, directly under console 3. Length at first measurement: 4.0 cm. Logged without interpretation. Measure monthly.

Copy verified against the console original, checksum matched, sealed.
