The Causeway — Region Chart
One throat, and a whole deep frontier behind it. The Causeway is the chokepoint that controls passage into the region beyond — hold it, and you hold every lane that threads through. This chart was drawn for the best of reasons: a joint goodwill expedition — Centre, Frontier, and Nhál together — sent to certify the road open and prove that a road can be shared. The track plotted here is that mission. It worked beautifully. That was the problem.
In The Burning Lanes the expedition does exactly what it set out to do: it opens the road and proves it can be shared. But every place opened becomes a place worth taking, and every triumph becomes a target. By the time the chart is finished, it is no longer a map of a road — it is a map of the fronts the next war will be fought along. The quiet junction in the corner is the one nobody is watching.
