Stabilising a Seam leaves a thermodynamic mark. Close the Seam and the mark stays. They accumulate. In the working language of the era it is a second-order term: some run physicists use it for the gravimetric residual at a junction's post-traversal register, and treat it as an operational nuisance. They do not know it is fundamental.
