E7 · Adventure Part of the Fracture Cosmology

The
Fractured

Four people in a basement. Five books to get home.

In 2026, Joel Kirby builds a device in a Bristol basement. It works. Joel (17), his stepfather Martin (46), and their neighbours Priya and Callum (both 17) are displaced across 286 years of human history — with no control over destination, no way to choose not to travel, and a sixty-minute window once the device charges.

The Group

Joel Kirby

Builder. 17 at displacement.

Built the device. Understands it better than anyone. Will not admit this is his fault.

Martin Calloway

Joel's stepfather. 46.

The adult in the room who keeps finding out that's not sufficient preparation for what the room turns into.

Priya Okafor

Scientist. 17.

Takes measurements. Fills notebooks. Is the only one who will write down the worst-case hypothesis.

Callum Osei

Navigator. 17.

Draws maps. Finds the ways out. Is better at reading people than any of them have needed him to be, until now.

Universe Connections

How The Fractured connects to the universe

The group's passage through time leaves traces in the historical record that other characters in other series encounter. The ISCA classifies the Bristol incursion within 48 hours. A 2039 paper by a researcher named Reinholt — who later disappears from all institutional records — describes precursor anomaly signatures that the group is responsible for.

The connections are rewards for readers who find them. No prior knowledge of the mainline series is required. Every Fractured book works alone.

E7 × S1

Around 2044, S1 protagonist Maren Solberg — not yet at Svalbard — is observed through a wound-zone interface without her knowledge. She never learns she was seen.

E7 × CX3

The group's temporal trace forms part of the historical record that the Long Burn civilisation uses to map Seam formation patterns. Their displacement is evidence.
