Wound zone
A region where the cost of crossing has become locally, physically visible — spacetime damaged rather than merely traversable. Wound zones contain FRACTURED LAYERS: intervals of another time that can briefly become observable through the zone's interface, for seconds at a time, before closing. What is seen through a layer is real and is never explained.
