The Road Called Good (The Far Roads #2)

Mireth is a world built vertically: cities up impossible cliffs, mirrors trading daylight between the cuts, hoists carrying commuters and freight and kids who know exactly which rules they can break. Kestrel arrives to open a road, has to learn how the place actually works, and then the new cut fails and all that infrastructure becomes rescue geometry.

This is the one where I wanted a frontier world worth saving, not just a problem to solve.

  • Mireth. Did you want to live there before it broke?
  • Every shortcut crosses someone's home or work. Was there a route you'd have refused?
  • Encounter-and-rescue as a shape. Does it hold a whole novel?

Spoilers for this book are fine below. It's the book's own thread. Anything from a later book or another series, wrap it in [spoiler] tags so nobody gets ambushed.
