Field Notebook — Day 19

Priya's Notebook

A6 notebook, Notebook 4. Ali Vertas, Aegean Coast, 2312. Day 19 of 21. This spread is the single most important document in The Long Recharge.

Day 19 — Morning

Coil % 94 ↑ from 91 yesterday
Zone radius 12.4m ↑ 0.3m in 24h
Rate Δ +0.3m/day (stable for 4 days)
Air temp (zone) 18°C ambient +2°C
Compass drift (zone) 3.8° ↑ from 3.2°

Sotiris at the door at 6:45. Brought figs. Asked how long we are staying. I said two days. He said that was what I said two days ago.

He is not wrong.

If the zone radius is proportional to coil charge, and coil charge is increasing at 3% per day —

then the zone grew while we were charging the device.

Then it grew because we were charging it.

Day 19 — cont.

If the correlation holds from Day 1:

zone(d) = 0.65m + (0.3 × d)

where d = days in current temporal position

charge(d) ≈ (75 + 3d)%

so: zone grows as device charges

This means we have been making it worse since Day 1.

Not the Seam — us. The device. The charging process itself generates the exotic matter field that is expanding the zone.

If we don't charge the device, we can't leave.

If we charge the device, the zone gets larger.

charge device? yes no can leave zone expands zone stable can't leave is there a third option?

— I have been not-asking this since Ceres.
